Do two quick health checks
Vitality Health Check + Online Vitality Age to unlock your best discounts.
Activate benefits in the app
HealthyFood/Care, Vitality Active Rewards, Gym, Movies- switch on the value.
Earn weekly Active Rewards
Close Vitality Active Rewards goals to get coffees, Miles- and power up Nike/device perks.
Step 1: Activate your Vitality Benefits in the Discovery app
Open the Discovery app and switch on the benefits that matter: HealthyFood & HealthyCare, Vitality Active Rewards, Gym, Movie- and link your fitness device so every workout counts automatically.
Tip: Have your Woolworths WRewards and/or Checkers Xtra Savings cards ready. The card must be linked to the same ID/passport Discovery has on file, or HealthyFood activation can fail.
Step 2: Complete your Vitality Health Check & Vitality Age
These two quick checks unlock the best discounts. Do the online Vitality Age assessment, then complete your Vitality Health Check at Clicks, Dis-Chem or a Discovery Store.
- Unlocks up to 25% cashback on HealthyFood, HealthyCare/Baby
- Up to 25% off travel (flights, hotels, car hire)
- Unlocks higher discounts on Nike gear, fitness devices and partner perks
If you’re on Discovery Health, the Health Check is covered (unless you’re in a 3-month general waiting period).
If your spouse/partner is on Vitality too, they need to complete their own Vitality Age and Vitality Health Check. Adult dependents can do theirs too.
Step 3: Join a Vitality Gym partner (Virgin Active & Planet Fitness)
Gym fees can be reduced significantly (maximum 75% off on qualifying options). Join via the Discovery app or in-club with your Vitality details; expect a once-off activation fee.

Step 4: Start earning weekly Vitality Active Rewards
Once your device is linked and Active Rewards is live, you’ll get a personalised weekly exercise goal. Close your goals to earn coffees, smoothies or Discovery Miles- and build towards higher Nike/device discounts.
Step 5: Unlock Vitality travel discounts (flights, hotels, car hire)
With your Health Check and Vitality Age done, you get up to 25% off travel via Vitality Travel (book in the Discovery Bank app). Add Discovery Bank to boost total savings up to 75%- no full banking switch needed.
Step 6: Use Vitality on-demand benefits
Some perks need an action each time. Examples: scan your HealthyDining restaurant receipt in the app; generate an Active Gear QR/voucher before you pay at Sportsmans or Totalsports; use Fitness Facilities passes.
These aren’t set-and-forget; they’re worth it, but you must engage to claim them.
Step 7: Boost your rewards with Discovery Bank
Discovery Bank (Vitality Money) amplifies discounts and Discovery Miles- especially for travel and retail cashbacks. We can open the account with you if you want the extra boost.
Step 8: Stay in touch with Diamond Wellness
Already on Vitality or Discovery Health? We’ll review your setup, confirm you’re actually getting value, and advise when to integrate with Discovery Life/Invest for paybacks and boosts.
What Vitality Points actually do now
Points don’t directly set your discount tiers anymore, but they still matter. They fuel your weekly Active Rewards goals, feed minor cashback calculations, and power Discovery Life/Invest boosts. Status (Blue→Diamond) still exists — it just matters more for integrated products than for retail perks.
Heads up: Benefits and partner rules change. Do your Health Check early, book travel in the Discovery Bank app, and make sure retailer cards are correctly linked in the app.
